The aim of Pamela’s Children is simple – to give the children of Uganda the best opportunity to achieve their full potential.
By providing access to full educational scholarships, we hope to provide our children with the knowledge and skills they will need to become productive citizens who go on to contribute to the social and economic development of Uganda.
We focus on the most vulnerable children in our society: orphans, those who live below the poverty line, neglected children, and those with disabilities. Through the generosity of our partners and donors, we support our children from kindergarten age through to university.
We are rooted in our local community, with over four hundred families already registered and whose children now attend one of our ever-growing networks of partner schools.
Pamela’s Children believes that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty as enabling local children to attend school empowers communities. Our approach is holistic and multifaceted.
We understand that education alone is not enough to address the complex challenges our children face. To ensure their success, we support income-generating activities for families, helping parents and caregivers create sustainable sources of income which in turn prevents children from being forced to abandon education to support their families financially. This comprehensive approach ensures that our children’s needs are met both at home and at school, creating a nurturing environment that supports their overall well-being and growth.
Our work is currently focused in the Rukungiri District, home to some of Uganda’s most disadvantaged children. 620 children are currently seeking sponsorship via Pamela’s Children, all of whom live in severe poverty.
